We enter the season of expectant waiting and preparation
for the celebration of the Nativity of Jesus..
He is the Savior of us all.
the Wisdom that teaches and guides us...
4th week Week of Advent
A newly betrothed couple is forced to register for a census in a town far way.
The woman is heavy now with child, the birth is imminent.
The hardships of their travel would begin more then a week
before the birth ...they travel along the flatlands of the Jordan River,
west over the hills surrounding Jerusalem and on into Bethlehem...
some 80 or more miles. Carrying provisions of water, oil and bread,
facing the dangers of the trip ... uphill, downhill, unpaved trails
during nasty weather that would have been the norm for the time,
lions and bears and wild boars, bandits.
The hardships did not end with the arrival in Bethlehem,
an overcrowded Bethlehem due to
the census ...
where to stay?
In the final week before His coming,
take time to meet with God.
Ask Him how to shine a light within
and among ourselves.

V. The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary.
R. And she conceived of the Holy Spirit.
Hail Mary, full of grace,
The Lord is with Thee;
Blessed art thou among women,
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners,
Now and at the hour of our death. Amen
V. Behold the handmaid of the Lord.
R. Be it done to me according to thy word.
Hail Mary. . .
V. And the Word was made flesh.
R. And dwelt among us.
Hail Mary. . .
V. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Let us pray: Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts, that we to whom the Incarnation of Christ Thy Son was made known by the message of an angel, may by His Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of His Resurrection. Through the same Christ Our Lord. Amen.
